UK BRONZE 31 October - 3 November 2012
What is UK Bronze?
This is a high level event, intended for advanced ringers, using staff notation music in a massed ringing setting to ring large sets of bells and chimes, under the direction of Fred Gramann. Rehearsals will run from Wednesday to Saturday followed by a concert on Saturday afternoon that will be open to the public. The schedule is tough.
Location?
The event will be held in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Sutton, Surrey situated in the centre of the town close to all the shops and restaurants. Sutton is between Croydon to the east, Kingston to the west, Wimbledon to the north and the M25 motorway to the south. The British Rail station is a short walk from the hotel and London’s Victoria Station is only 20 minutes on a fast train. Gatwick Airport is within easy reach, and Heathrow is not much further. The hotel has air-conditioned rooms, a health & leisure club with pool, sauna and steam rooms. There are 115 car parking spaces (£3 daily parking fee applicable). We shall be using the Hotel’s conference facilities for rehearsals and the concert.

New! “Whitechapel Handbells” wooden jigsaw puzzle
This is a familiar picture of part of a refurbished competition set now used by the HRGB to introduce new ringers to the art of tune ringing on handbells. Wentworth puzzles make an excellent gift. They challenge those who enjoy jigsaws that intrigue, frustrate and confuse! There are straight edges inside the puzzle and a set of specially cut “whimsies” (so-called because Victorian puzzle cutters included them ‘on a whim’). This wooden puzzle contains 250 pieces and measures: 250mm x 360mm (10” x 14”).
£25.00 each including postage.
